Plot

A massive cache of drugs and weapons, discovered by the Coast Guard en route to the United States, pointed to a Colombian drug lord named Antonio Paulo. Paulo controls vast, remote areas of Colombia, funding well-armed guerrilla groups with cash and weaponry in exchange for their help fighting the government. He is notorious for torturing captured Colombian and American soldiers. Meanwhile, in Iran, a less hardline government friendlier to the West has replaced the fundamentalist regime. Outraged by this new government's economic ties with what they call "corrupt, morally evil" Western powers, a significant faction of the old guard has launched a second revolution. Though NATO-backed government forces hold Tehran, fundamentalist rebels have seized the oil terminal on Kharg Island, along with production facilities to the north and at Bandar Shahpur. With oil accounting for three-quarters of Iran's economy, this poses a serious threat to Western investors. The UN and NATO have authorized a US-led military intervention, and Delta Force has been chosen to spearhead the coalition's assault.
