According to ancient lore and celestial history, the First Blade was forged by Cain himself using the Mark of Cain, which God had bestowed upon him. Its purpose was not specifically to kill angels; rather, it was the weapon Cain used to slay his brother Abel, and later became a tool of immense power tied to the Mark. Unlike standard angel blades, which can permanently kill angels (as seen with Anna and Uriel), the First Blade is uniquely capable of killing anything—including angels, demons, and archangels—when wielded by a bearer of the Mark. The blade was last seen intact, though its whereabouts after Season 10 remain unknown.

The First Blade operates on a fundamental level of celestial physics, allowing it to pierce the soul-energy that protects angels from harm. When an angel is struck by this weapon, they do not simply return to Heaven; their essence is extinguished permanently, rendering them dead in the truest sense. • The First Blade is not the only weapon capable of killing angels; angel blades, archangel blades, and the Colt can also permanently kill angels.
