Plot
The collapse of several dimensions prompts Thor, Black Bolt, and Black Panther to investigate. After battling alternate versions of themselves, they inform Nick Fury. Meanwhile, Captain America, Black Widow, and Iron Man defend Stark Tower from an Ultron attack, during which Stark Industries employee Jemma Simmons is kidnapped by Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM). After her rescue, the heroes encounter alternate versions of many heroes and villains while searching for MODOK, concluding that AIM built a device to send people between dimensions. MODOK is defeated and reveals he was researching Ultron by summoning dimensional alternates before Red Skull stole the dimension transporter. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are then attacked by thugs with advanced weaponry; the heroes fight them off and defeat Red Skull and Hydra alongside Ultron. An interdimensional transference device opens, bringing future versions of the heroes, who are also defeated, causing a dimensional split. After defeating Inhumans and Loki, the team meets Dr. Simmons. Doctor Strange explains he and Simmons have detected an energy signal similar to the convergence device. Believing the Ultimates are working to solve the dimension collapse, they go to the Triskelion, confront defense drones and a skeptical Black Panther, and meet Blue Marvel working on a sealing device. The Triskelion goes into lockdown as inmates Anti-Man and Thanos escape.
