The team qualified for the playoffs for five consecutive seasons between 2016 and 2020. In 2018, they reached the finals but lost to Chennai Super Kings. In 2024, they reached the finals but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders.
In Their Own Story
The air inside Eden Gardens was thick with anticipation as the final over approached. David Warner stood at the crease, the weight of Hyderabad on his shoulders, watching the bowler run in. With a calculated flick that sent the ball racing into the stands, the roar of the crowd erupted into a deafening chant of 'Orange Army.' The wickets had fallen earlier, but the spirit of the 2016 squad was unbreakable. As the final ball was bowled, the orange jerseys embraced in a chaotic, joyous heap, celebrating a dream that had finally become reality.
