Anatomy of a Scene

Dissecting the art of filmmaking, one scene at a time.

From 2001 to 2005, the Sundance Channel produced and aired Anatomy of a Scene, a half-hour series that broke down a single scene from a film, usually one that had premiered at a Sundance Film Festival. Each episode explored the craft behind the scene, covering areas like production design, costumes, cinematography, storyboards, writing, music, acting, and directing. Interviews with the filmmakers were woven together with clips from the movie. Many episodes later appeared as bonus features on the films' DVD releases.
