HD 193307, also known as HR 7766 and Gliese 9691, is the main star in a binary system found in Telescopium. At magnitude 6.27, it is just barely visible to the naked eye under perfect skies. Gaia data places it 102 light-years away, with its light dimmed by 0.18 magnitudes from interstellar dust. Its accepted classification is F9 V, though it has been labeled G0 V or G2 IV-V by different astronomers. The star is slightly evolved, shining 1.49 magnitudes brighter than a zero-age main-sequence star.
