W Crucis is an eclipsing binary in Crux where only the yellow supergiant is visible; its more massive companion is hidden inside an accretion disk. The system shows the O'Connell effect, with uneven brightness peaks. Its magnitude ranges from 8.18 to 9.01 every 198.5 days.
