CH Crucis
A shell star in Crux, variable and blue-white, also named Lumbung.
CH Crucis, also called Lumbung and designated 39 Crucis, is a solitary variable star in the southern constellation Crux. It appears to the naked eye as a faint, blue-white point of light, with its apparent visual magnitude varying around 4.91. Based on parallax, the star lies about 844 light-years from the Sun and is moving away at a radial velocity of roughly +12.5 km/s. It belongs to the nearby Sco OB2 association. CH Crucis is a conventional shell star, meaning it is a Be star seen edge-on. Its spectral classification has been listed variously as B5III, B6IV, B6IVe+sh, B8IV, and B7IV in different studies. It has been tentatively classified as a Gamma Cassiopeiae variable, with a brightness range of 4.88 to 5.7 magnitudes in the Johnson B band.
