10 Canis Majoris, also designated FT Canis Majoris, is a single variable star in Canis Major. Located roughly 1,980 light years from the Sun, it is visible to the naked eye as a faint, 5th-magnitude blue-white hued star. This massive Be star is a B-type main-sequence star with a rapid rotation that gives it an oblate shape and causes brightness variations.
