Grandpa's Letter Delivery
Grandpa's letter, the deed to the farm, and his Year 3 evaluation.
Stardew Valley opens with the player's grandfather on his deathbed, handing over a letter to be opened only when they are ready. The letter gives them the deed to his farm.
A note at Grandpa's shrine in the top-left corner of the farm says to wait for his return at the dawn of the third year. On Spring 1 of Year 3 he returns to judge the player's progress, and the shrine lights candles to match; with all four lit, the player can claim the Statue of Perfection.
