Arlia
Rena's home village on Expel, where Claude's adventure begins.
Arlia is a small, quiet village on the planet Expel in Star Ocean: The Second Story. It lies south of the towns of Salva and Krosse, on the edge of the Sacred Forest, and it is where Rena Lanford and Dias Flac grew up.

Background
Arlia is the first settlement Claude C. Kenny reaches after an alien machine teleports him to Expel. Rena, who finds him in the Sacred Forest, takes him to the village because she believes he is the legendary Hero of Light: he carries a "Sword of Light", which is really the standard Federation phase gun.
Arlia is an early stop in the game and has a goods shop. After the visit to Arlia, Claude and Rena set out for Krosse.
In Arlia the mayor, Regis, explains to Claude what has gone wrong on Expel: a meteorite crashed into Expel, and the villagers, who link it to the strange events that followed, call it the Sorcery Globe. Claude agrees to look into the Sorcery Globe, and Rena, an orphan who hopes to learn about her own origins, leaves the village with him.
