Gameplay
In this spin-off from the Bubble Bobble series, players control Bubblun or Bobblun, or both, climbing long vertical stages by summoning rainbows. Rather than a health bar or limited lives, a countdown timer determines when the game ends. Taking damage from enemies subtracts time, while defeating foes with rainbows produces gems that add seconds back. A chain of consecutive enemy defeats yields more valuable gems and larger time bonuses. At intervals, Dr. Crescent appears from below piloting one of his machines; players may either fight him or avoid him until reaching a checkpoint. Gathering seven colored gems unlocks a special attack usable against these mini-bosses. The Xbox Live Arcade version lets players use their Avatars in Time Attack and Challenge modes.
