Grand Prix World allows the player to take control of one of the 11 F1 teams participating in the 1998 Formula One season. Team names and details could not be changed within the game itself, requiring a third-party editor for modifications. The game shares much of its code base with its predecessors but introduces major changes to the interface design and negotiation modules with sponsors, drivers, and engineers. These changes reduced 'freak' results, such as signing top-line drivers for bottom-ranking teams or scoring points without major team reorganization.
