Goal! Goal! Goal!
A simplified World Cup football game for Neo-Geo.
Goal! Goal! Goal! is a football/soccer game for the Neo-Geo, made by Visco and published by SNK in 1995. It offers a stripped-down World Cup experience: the player must knock out seven teams to claim the trophy. The first three opponents are presented as a simulated group stage, while the remaining four belong to the direct elimination round, where all qualified teams are shown along with their progress.
Matches last two minutes, with the clock stopping whenever the ball is out of play. When time runs out, twelve extra seconds of injury time are added off-screen. If the score is tied, the player must insert another credit; then they can either replay the match or go straight to a penalty shootout.
The game includes 28 national teams, each with three stats—Shooting, Defense, and Speed—displayed when selecting a side. The teams listed on the selection screen include "America" (meaning the United States) and "Korea" (South Korea). Six formations are available, but whichever one is chosen cannot be changed during the game.
Visco, based in Tokyo, Japan, developed the title, and SNK published it. The company also worked on games for the NES and Super Nintendo. AllGame's Kyle Knight gave Goal! Goal! Goal! a generally positive review.
