Splash Splash Love

Plot

Danbi is a senior high school student preparing for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) but struggles with mathematics and is reluctant to take the exam. On exam day, she runs away and stops at a playground, where she hears a drum from a puddle of water. Possessing the ability to travel through spacetime, she jumps into the puddle and arrives in the Joseon era. Mistaken for a eunuch, she becomes a confidante of King Lee Do. Her high school knowledge of math and science makes her the greatest scientist in the kingdom. She falls in love with the king and inspires his reform goals. Traditionalist courtiers, fearing for their privileges, target her for death. After saving both the king and the queen, Danbi befriends the queen, who endorses her becoming a royal consort. Presented to the Queen Dowager, who resembles her own mother, Danbi becomes homesick and decides to return to her era. Lee accepts her decision, and they share a passionate goodbye at the beach before she disappears into a water portal. Lee swears he will find her again.
