LittleBigPlanet
Play, Create, Share.
LittleBigPlanet (often written as LittleBIGPlanet) is a series of puzzle-platform games created by the British studio Media Molecule and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The games are built around the motto "Play, Create, Share," which sums up the three main activities: playing alone or with others (either on the same console or online), building new content with the built-in creation tools, and uploading those creations for other players to find and use. Tarsier Studios, Fireproof Games, and Supermassive Games also helped develop the PlayStation 3 titles by making downloadable content such as costumes, backgrounds, objects, and stickers, some of which give players extra tools and gadgets for the level editor.
The series includes seven games across six platforms. It began in 2008 with *LittleBigPlanet* on PlayStation 3, followed in 2009 by a PlayStation Portable version of the same name (initially developed by Studio Liverpool, then handed to SCE Studio Cambridge). The sequel, *LittleBigPlanet 2*, came out in January 2011. A smaller spin-off, *Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves*, was released in December 2010. *LittleBigPlanet PS Vita*, developed by Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven, launched in September 2012 for the PlayStation Vita. At E3 2014, Sony announced *LittleBigPlanet 3*, a PlayStation 4 entry developed by Sumo Digital and released in November 2014. The most recent installment, *Sackboy: A Big Adventure*, was revealed during the PS5 live event and came out on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in November 2020, with a Windows version following on 27 October 2022.
In January 2015, it was announced that all *LittleBigPlanet* servers in Japan would close on 31 July, and that the PlayStation Portable version and *LittleBigPlanet Karting* would shut down in all regions in late August. Due to attacks on the online servers, all *LittleBigPlanet* servers were taken offline on 22 May 2021 (the Vita version had already been closed since March). The servers for the PS4 version of *LittleBigPlanet 3* were restored on 13 September 2021, but the same announcement confirmed that servers for the original *LittleBigPlanet*, *LittleBigPlanet 2*, *LittleBigPlanet PS Vita*, and the PS3 version of *LittleBigPlanet 3* would remain closed permanently. On 8 January 2024, the PS4 version's servers were temporarily closed again due to further suspected attacks. On 19 A
