Sung Jin-Woo vs. Igris

Lore & Background

The duel itself is a clash of ideologies and power levels. Igris represents the pinnacle of traditional knightly strength, wielding a massive greatsword with unmatched skill. However, his true purpose was not to kill, but to find a successor strong enough to break the cycle of defeat that had plagued him for ages. When Jin-Woo overcomes him through sheer will and newfound abilities, he does not merely defeat an enemy; he fulfills Igris's final wish by offering him a new form of existence.

Reader's Guide

The event begins when Sung Jin-Woo enters the Double Dungeon, realizing it is far more dangerous than any normal raid. He fights through waves of monsters to reach the central castle, where he encounters Igris guarding the throne.

A fierce battle ensues. Initially outmatched, Jin-Woo relies on his unique ability to level up and recover instantly during the fight. He pushes past his physical limits, eventually landing a decisive blow that shatters Igris's defense without killing him outright.

Following the victory, the System presents Jin-Woo with a choice: kill the fallen knight or command him. Choosing the latter, Jin-Woo raises Igris as his first Shadow Soldier. This moment fundamentally changes the story, granting Jin-Woo an army and establishing his path toward becoming the Shadow Monarch.
