Lore & Background
Amidst the slaughter, Jin-Woo is cornered and left for dead by his own teammates who flee to save themselves. Facing certain death against the overwhelming horde of ant-like creatures, he survives a final, desperate encounter that triggers a mysterious phenomenon. A blue screen appears before him, offering a choice that binds his fate to a unique 'System,' granting him the ability to level up like a video game character. This event sets the stage for his transformation into a hunter who can grow stronger with every battle.
Reader's Guide
The arc opens with Sung Jin-Woo joining a D-Rank raid party led by Cha Hae-In's acquaintance, unaware of the danger awaiting them. Upon entering the dungeon, they discover a second gate hidden behind the first, leading to a deeper chamber where S-Rank monsters reside.
Spoiler Warning: The party is quickly decimated by the Ant King and its minions. Jin-Woo is left for dead after being separated from the group, forcing him into a solo survival scenario against impossible odds.
The turning point occurs when Jin-Woo accepts the System's offer to become the 'Player,' granting him the ability to see stats and complete quests. He survives by completing daily tasks and fighting weaker ants, slowly gaining strength while the rest of humanity remains unaware of his new power.
