Dubb Union originated as Westurn Union, a name changed to avoid legal conflict with Western Union. The trio—Soopafly, Damani, and Bad Lucc—first gained major exposure on Snoop Dogg's 2006 track 'Like This.' Their street album House Shoe Muzik, Vol. 1, hosted by DJ Crazy Toones, was set for release in April 2008, featuring the single 'All Night' and 'Cali Grown.' The official Westurn Union album was released on September 8, 2008 through Doggystyle/Koch.

Bad Lucc later achieved solo success, notably appearing on German rapper Problem's 2012 single 'Like Whaaat,' which peaked at #20 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
