Playing career

Linus Karlsson’s hockey career began in the Boro/Vetlanda system, where he moved through junior levels before stepping up to senior play in Sweden’s fourth tier for the 2015–16 season. He joined Karlskrona HK for the 2017–18 campaign and debuted in the Swedish Hockey League that same year. In February 2019, the Vancouver Canucks acquired his NHL rights by trading Jonathan Dahlén to his former club. After a standout 2021–22 season with Skellefteå AIK, Karlsson earned the SHL Rookie of the Year award. He inked a two-year entry-level contract with Vancouver in May 2022. His NHL debut came on November 16, 2023, a 5–2 loss to the Calgary Flames where he logged three shots over nearly 12 minutes of ice time. Karlsson notched his first NHL point and goal on January 29, 2025, scoring the game-winner in a 3–1 victory against the Nashville Predators. He signed a one-year extension with the Canucks in March 2025. On June 23, 2025, he helped the Abbotsford Canucks capture the Calder Cup, leading all playoff scorers with 14 goals and 26 points.
