Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran
Shakira's twelfth studio album, transforming heartbreak into strength.
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is the twelfth studio album from Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, arriving on 22 March 2024 via Sony Music Latin. It is her first album in seven years, since 2017’s El Dorado. The record draws heavily on her split from footballer Gerard Piqué, turning heartbreak into a narrative of resilience and strength.
Musically, the album is rooted in pop but pulls from EDM, rock, reggaeton, bachata, regional Mexican, and Afrobeats. Guest vocalists include Cardi B, Rauw Alejandro, Manuel Turizo, Grupo Frontera, Ozuna, Karol G, and Fuerza Regida, as well as Shakira’s children Milan and Sasha. Seven singles were released over two years, starting with “Te Felicito” featuring Rauw Alejandro, which hit number one in Argentina and went thirteen-times platinum (Latin) in the US. Two other tracks—“Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Bizarrap and “TQG” with Karol G—both cracked the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200, and each spent five weeks atop the Hot Latin Songs chart. To support the album, Shakira launched the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in February 2025.
Critics praised the album’s genre-spanning sound and vulnerable lyrics. It debuted at number one in Argentina and Spain, and in the US reached number one on the Top Latin Albums chart and number thirteen on the Billboard 200. The RIAA certified it seven-times platinum (Latin). In 2025, it won the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album—Shakira’s fourth Grammy—and was nominated for the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year.
After El Dorado and its 2018 tour, Shakira released two 2020 collaborations (“Me Gusta” with Anuel AA and “Girl Like Me” with the Black Eyed Peas) and performed at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show with Jennifer Lopez. During that period, she faced a tax evasion case in Spain and her breakup with Piqué, finalized in 2022. She describes the album’s creation as “alchemical,” saying writing the songs helped her rebuild, and singing turned her tears “into diamonds” and her “vulnerability into strength.” The title comes from a lyric in her Bizarrap collaboration. She announced the record on 15 February 2024 and opened preorders that day.

Lore & Background
Following the release of her eleventh studio album, El Dorado (2017), and the El Dorado World Tour (2018), Shakira released two collaborations in 2020 and performed at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show with Jennifer Lopez. During the same period, the singer faced prosecution for tax evasion in Spain and the split from Gerard Piqué, finalized in 2022. Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran reflects on the transformation she has been going through since the release of her last album. The singer describes the creative process as 'alchemical'; while she was writing songs she 'was rebuilding' herself and singing them turned her tears 'into diamonds', and her 'vulnerability into strength'. The album title is a lyric taken from her song 'Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53' with Argentine producer Bizarrap.
