Plot
Delta V follows a cyberpunk theme set in a future where mega-corporations hire hackers to acquire data, which has become the currency of that era. The player begins as a captured hacker conscripted by the mega-corporation Black Sun to join their online operatives, piloting programs through cyberspace to steal rival data and defend against invading hackers. The character brain-jacks into cyberspace, operating virtual vehicles and weaponry while risking brain damage from the real effects of virtual damage.
Reception
Next Generation rated the game two stars out of five, stating that despite its extras, Delta V is like playing the trench stage of the original Star Wars arcade game repeatedly. James V. Trunzo reviewed Delta V in White Wolf Inphobia #54 (April, 1995), rating it 3.5 out of 5, noting that few games have better graphics or more speed, and that it can be played over a modem against live opponents. The game was named Best of Show at the Consumer Electronics Show in 1993, and was the 10th best-selling game for December 1994 under recreation software according to The Charlotte Observer.
