At a banquet in Starr’s honor the next day, Peverale says he believes the Sirians are behind the troubles. Starr responds that the Sirians are most likely hiding in the abandoned mines beneath the observatory and proposes to search them. After dinner, Cook tells Starr that Peverale has become obsessed with the Sirian threat.
