Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani

Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, which translates to "This Is a Story of Love," is an Indian supernatural television series that aired on STAR One from October 2010 to December 2011. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the show was initially developed under the working title "Fanaa" and was considered one of her more ambitious undertakings. The cast was led by Vivian Dsena and Sukirti Kandpal. It is recognized as India's first youth-oriented supernatural series, drawing inspiration from *The Vampire Diaries* and the *Twilight* saga. Dsena's role as a vampire significantly boosted his public profile.

The narrative centers on Abhay, a vampire who has lived for two centuries, and his love for a human woman named Piya. Piya strongly resembles Maithili, a princess who was Abhay's soulmate during his human life. The story begins with Piya, an orphan who wins a Harrison scholarship to attend Mount College in Dehradun. She was abandoned by her father, Arnab Dobriyal, as a child and lived in an orphanage for ten years after her mother died of cancer. At college, Piya befriends Misha Dobriyal, who introduces her to Kabir Singh Rathore and his ex-girlfriend Tanushree, known as T. Kabir is immediately smitten with Piya. On their first day, during a mountain rappelling activity, Piya falls and is saved by an unseen person. Misha later introduces Piya to her elder sister Panchi and their mother Madhu. At a party, Piya meets Panchi's fiancé, Danish Singh Rathore, who is also Kabir's cousin. After T insults her, Piya leaves and encounters her mysterious savior again in the forest. Piya's roommate later frames her for drug possession, but Misha asks her father for help, and the hostel mistress exposes the scheme, leading to the culprits' arrest.

When Piya sees Misha's father, she is stunned to recognize him as her own father, Arnab. He does not recognize her, believing she and her mother died in an accident years ago. Piya realizes Madhu is her stepmother, and Panchi and Misha are her half-sisters. A new student, Abhay Raichand, arrives at the college. His family quickly becomes influential in the city, buying an old house and making business deals with prominent figures like Mr. Dobriyal. Abhay is rude and arrogant; when the principal denies him admission, the Raichands have the principal replaced. Panchi directs a skit where Piya plays Juliet and Kabir plays Romeo.
