Laudrup began his senior career with Brøndby, winning the 1987 and 1988 Danish First Division. He then played for German club Bayer Uerdingen, followed by Bayern Munich. He moved to Italian club Fiorentina, then was loaned to Milan, winning the 1993–94 Serie A and the 1994 UEFA Champions League. He signed for Rangers in June 1994 for a £2.3 million transfer fee, after being approached by Walter Smith. He was a vital part of the Rangers team which dominated the Scottish Premier Division in the 1990s, winning three championships. He won the 1998 UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea, then had a short spell with Copenhagen, before ending his career with Ajax in 2000. He played 82 matches and scored 21 goals for Denmark, and was a vital part of the Danish teams which won UEFA Euro 1992 and the 1995 Confederations Cup.
