Kanal

A Hamburg coast-guard base split across two buildings on the water.

Kanal is a map in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege set in Hamburg, Germany, around a coast-guard and harbour complex on the water. It was reworked in September 2019 as part of Operation Ember Rise.

Its objectives include the Server and Radar rooms on the second floor, the Security, Maps and Coast Guard Meeting rooms on the first floor and the Supply Room and Kayaks in the basement. The map has five hatches.

Background

The original layout joined its east and west buildings with a single path, which could cut a team off from the objective. The rework added a new bridge and two staircases, colour-coded areas so players can call positions more easily, enlarged rooms such as the Lounge, moved a bomb site into the Security Room with a new doorway to the Maps Room, and added a new basement site in the Supply Room and Kayaks.

Kanal is also the setting of Situation 5, Cold Zero, a solo training mission in which Glaz has to rescue a hostage held in the control room and escort him out to the floating dock.
