Death Track: Resurrection
A futuristic combat racer set after World War III.
In 2008, the Russian developer SkyFallen Entertainment and publisher 1C Company released *Death Track: Resurrection*, an action racing game that follows up on the 1989 title *Deathtrack*. While 1C handled distribution within the CIS, 505 Games published it across the European Union and Aspyr Media brought it to North America, where it was sold without DRM. The Russian version featured an advertisement for the mobile operator MegaFon, including a branded sticker on the first car.
Set after a third world war, the game pits players in races across global tracks such as Bangkok, Vatican City, London, Moscow, New York, Paris, Prague, San Diego, Istanbul, and Tokyo. Points earned from performing stunts can be spent on upgrades for vehicles and weapons. Cars can be fitted with various weapons to slow or knock out opponents. The protagonist, Antonio Salevani, seeks revenge against Thorvald Nesson in New York for killing eight previous pilots, destroying his Bosscar, and reviving his own career. Other racers include Shiroi Tokugawa, Kim Ho, Vassily, Rebecca, Chamorro, Martha, Jeremy, and Rachel. A downloadable content pack for the PlayStation 3 version added one new car, the Hari 108.
Critical reception was mixed. GameRankings calculated an average score of 53.87% based on eight reviews. GameSpot rated the game 5.5 out of 10, while IGN gave it a 6.7 out of 10.
