Making and release

It was developed by MANGLEDmaw Games, Arcadim, and SinisterCid.[3] It later came to Nintendo Switch in September 2023 and to PlayStation and Xbox in 2024.[4] At PAX East in early 2023, a demo of the complete game had its first showing.[3] For the full game, the studio decided to recast Amanda's role, selecting a dark-skinned actress to provide the character's voice.[3]

On April 25, 2023, the initial full game launched on Steam, including subtitles in multiple languages.[4]

What the cited sources add

ScreenRant notes that Amanda the Adventurer stands out among children's media horror games for its voice acting, art, and unique endings.[5] Players unlock each ending in a specific order, not through different playthroughs.[5] The second ending, "A Fateful End," shows Wooly screaming as Amanda tries to saw him open with a bone saw.[5] Bleeding Cool reports that in Amanda the Adventurer 2, players explore Kensdale Public Library and can directly influence Amanda's world with their input.[6]

MANGLEDmaw Games describes themselves as the developers of the viral Amanda the Adventurer series.[7] The initial ending, "A Gruesome End," results in the player character being suspended as a hanging slab of meat within the cartoon butcher's shop.[5]
