Manuel Narvaez

Biography

Narváez played college basketball at Southern Nazarene University from 2000 to 2004. In his junior season he averaged 15.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game; as a senior he averaged 18.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game and was named NAIA Third Team All-American. He began playing professionally in the National Superior Basketball League in 2000. In 2006 he was drafted by the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the NBDL. He was waived by the Thunderbirds on January 2, 2007, and later acquired by the Colorado 14ers on February 14, 2007, to replace an injured player, but was waived later that month. With the Coamo Marathon Runners in 2007, he averaged 14 points and 13.9 rebounds per game and led his team in five categories. Narváez was a member of the Puerto Rican National Team in 2006, winning a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games and participating in the Basketball World Championship 2006. In 2007 he won a silver medal with Puerto Rico at the Pan-American Games. In the 2010 BSN season with the Ponce Lions he averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game; in 2011 with Coamo he averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds. Narváez is also the author of a motivational book titled "El Sentido del Baloncesto en la Vida".
