Lore & Background
Yasnaya Polyana was originally owned by the Kartsev family, later purchased by Prince Sergey Volkonskiy, and passed to his son Prince Nikolai Volkonskiy, grandfather of Leo Tolstoy. Tolstoy was born there on 9 September 1828, wrote War and Peace and Anna Karenina there, and is buried nearby. In June 1921, the estate was nationalized and became the State Memorial and Nature Reserve 'Museum-Estate of L. N. Tolstoy — Yasnaya Polyana'.
Reader's Guide
In PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Yasnaya Polyana is a named location (a town) on the Erangel map. It is not a standalone map; Erangel is 8×8 km and has existed since 2017. Yasnaya Polyana is a single compound within Erangel, not a separate smaller map like Rebirth Island.
