Lore & Background

The Rowdyruff Boys are the Powerpuff Girls' evil male counterparts. They were created by Mojo Jojo, the Powerpuff Girls' archenemy, who is a mutated chimpanzee mad scientist with high intelligence and a protruding brain. Mojo Jojo was Professor Utonium's reckless pet and lab assistant, Jojo, before the same accident that created the Powerpuff Girls gave Jojo his super-intelligence. The Rowdyruff Boys were brought to life through a formula involving Chemical X, snips of the Powerpuff Girls' hair, and a secret ingredient—boys' cooties—granting them powers nearly identical to their female rivals, including flight, super strength, and various elemental abilities. However, their personalities are shaped by villainy rather than heroism.
