Eli Vance

The scientist who survived the breach and led humanity's fight against the Combine.

Eli Vance is a character introduced in Half-Life 2 and its subsequent episodes. He is a key figure in the resistance against the Combine on Earth. A former employee of the Black Mesa Research Facility, he survived the Resonance Cascade and later became a leader in the Lambda Resistance. He is the father of Alyx Vance and a close ally to Gordon Freeman. His expertise and leadership are central to the resistance's efforts, particularly in the events of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, where he works at the White Forest base to launch a rocket that will close a Combine portal.
