PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond
Pikachu and friends must save PokéPark from Wish Park.
PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond is a spin-off Pokémon game for the Wii, developed by Creatures Inc. and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo. It is the follow-up to PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure. In this game, Pikachu and his best friend Piplup travel to a new PokéPark and must protect it from the danger posed by Wish Park.
The game is mostly single-player, but its attraction minigames can be played by up to four people. Players control one of four Pokémon—Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy, or Tepig—and can switch between them at any time. Each has unique abilities. Throughout the game, various Pokémon challenge the player to different activities. In chase mode, the player must tag an opponent before time runs out. In battle mode, the player fights to defeat the opponent. Other Pokémon may offer quizzes or hide-and-seek games. When a player defeats an opponent, that Pokémon usually becomes a friend and is added to the Pal Pad, which records information about all the Pokémon in the game. These friends help open Poster Portals, the gateways to Wish Park, where the main antagonists are found.
The story begins with the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom discussing a new threat to PokéPark. They mention a "light among the darkness" as Pikachu and Piplup arrive at Seasong Beach in the Cove Area. They soon discover Wish Park, a mysterious dimension reached through portals in each region, and realize it is a trap meant to enchant the park's inhabitants. Oshawott appears to help free the captured Pokémon, but he is forced to flee with Pikachu and Piplup. Piplup is taken hostage as the other two escape back to Seasong Beach.
Pikachu and Oshawott learn they must defeat the leaders of each attraction in Wish Park and ring the Wish Bells in four areas: the Cove Area, Arbor Area, Crag Area, and Tech Area. After befriending enough Pokémon to open the portal using their Friendship Power, they defeat the first zone of Wish Park and repeat this in the Arbor and Crag areas, where they team up with Snivy and Tepig. As they progress, a Dark Vortex grows in the sky, and they realize the evil from Wish Park is pulling it closer.
After defeating the attraction in the Tech Area's portal, the four separate floating islands of Wish Park connect, giving access to the central island and Wish Palace. There, they free Piplup and confront Darkrai, the leader of Wish Park.
