Dino Land

A 1991 pinball game with dinosaur-themed tables and bosses.

Dino Land

Dino Land (超闘龍烈伝ディノランド; "Retsuden Super Dino Land") is a pinball video game from 1991, developed by Wolf Team for the Sega Genesis and the X68000 home computer. While often mistaken as the first pinball game for the Genesis, that honor actually belongs to Sonic Spinball (1993).

In the game, players control a character named Dino-Bunz, who must rescue his "sweetheart" Meeshell. Dino-Bunz curls into a ball that the player flings at enemies. The action takes place across three pinball tables: "Earth," "Sea," and "Sky," each containing multiple areas and a boss. During boss stages, the player can uncurl and walk around the table. Hidden levels are also available, and one table includes a slot machine.

The game was included in the Renovation Collection 1 cartridge for the Evercade in 2022, though this was not its first European release—Dino Land originally launched in Europe for the Sega Genesis in 1991, published by Renovation. An updated version launched in 2025 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5, published by Ratalaika Games under license from Edia. This version adds rewind, save states, and screen filters to alter the game's appearance.

Reception was mixed. MegaTech criticized the ball physics as "jerky" and unrealistic, calling the game "jolly" but unchallenging, and advised pinball fans to seek out Devil's Crush instead. Console XS recommended avoiding it due to poor scrolling and simple gameplay. Games-X praised the guardian boss as "a unique idea for this genre" but found the game too expensive. Retro Gamer in 2017 described it as a good "second string alternative" to Alien Crush and Devil's Crush. Reviewing the Renovation Collection 1, Mike Diver found Dino Land suitable for short bursts but unfavorably compared it to Psycho Pinball.
