Reception

Critics gave Pikmin Bloom mixed or average scores, according to Metacritic. Early reviews described it as a gamified fitness app, similar to step-tracking games that reward walking with coins and minigames. Jess Reyes from Digital Trends called it more of a Nintendo fitness app than a video game, drawing a comparison to Pokémon Go. At launch, some Android users on version 11 or 12 experienced delayed notifications, including SMS messages, a problem first noted during beta testing. Niantic acknowledged the issue on November 5 and released two updates that reduced the delays. The game saw two million downloads in its first two weeks, and by April 2024, it had earned $44 million since its release.
