In 1974–75, Dave Schultz set an NHL record for penalty minutes (472). Bobby Clarke earned his second Hart Trophy and Bernie Parent was the lone recipient of the Vezina Trophy. The Flyers finished with a record of 51–18–11, the best in the league. In the playoffs, after a first-round bye, the Flyers swept the Toronto Maple Leafs, then defeated the New York Islanders in seven games after leading 3–0. In the Stanley Cup Final against the Buffalo Sabres, the Flyers won in six games, with game three known as 'The Fog Game' due to a heat wave in Buffalo. Parent posted his fourth playoff shutout in game six and won his second consecutive Conn Smythe Trophy.
