Kelly Green

Kelly green is the bright green the Philadelphia Eagles wore for most of their history. The team added green to its uniforms in 1935, and for decades its colors were kelly green, silver and white. In 1954 the Eagles became, together with the Baltimore Colts, the second NFL team to put a logo on their helmets: silver wings on a kelly green shell. The wings were later redrawn inside a white outline, and that design on a kelly green helmet stayed standard for more than two decades.

In 1969 the team used two helmets, kelly green with white wings on the road and white with kelly green wings at home, and from 1970 to 1973 it wore the white helmet exclusively before going back to kelly green helmets with silver wings. The logo and uniforms were overhauled in 1996, when the primary color changed to a darker shade officially called midnight green. The team announced that throwback kelly green uniforms would return as an alternate from the 2023 season; they debuted in a Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins, and the kelly green helmet became the team's one alternate helmet, temporarily shelving the black one.
