Musical career
In late 2020, Kim Dracula dropped a metal version of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" on TikTok, then put it on Spotify that December. The track blew up fast, racking up six million YouTube views, 13 million Spotify streams, and over 60,000 TikTok uses by year's end. That success pushed Kim Dracula to the fourth-most-followed Australian music act on TikTok in 2020, behind Sia, Iggy Azalea, and Mia Rodriguez. Come January 2021, "Paparazzi" climbed to number four on Spotify's Global Viral 50 chart, and Kim Dracula debuted at number 47 on the Billboard Emerging Artists list.
By April, the cover had grown to 13.4 million TikTok views, 33 million YouTube views, and 55 million Spotify listens, making Kim Dracula the second most followed Australian TikTok personality—only Sia had more. In 2022, the singles "Make Me Famous" and "Drown" earned praise from Rock Sound, which called "Drown" a weird and wonderful mix of sounds and styles. On July 14, 2023, Kim Dracula released their first album, A Gradual Decline in Morale, a 20-track record that included four earlier singles. In 2024, they voiced Luther on Warriors, a concept album by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis.
