Biography

Corzo was born in Bucaramanga, Santander, to Mario Corzo and Irene Pinto. She studied law at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga. In 1995, during her final year of college, she was runner-up in the Señorita Santander beauty contest. She has said that winning would have led her to modeling or acting rather than finishing her studies. She prefers human rights issues over litigation.

Media career

After college, Corzo hosted a human rights radio show on the Universidad Industrial de Santander station while working at the Bucaramanga branch of the National Ombudsman's Office. In 1997, she began hosting a television show at the new TRO local station. Following her marriage, she moved to Cali, where she worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Department and hosted Noticiero del Pacífico on Telepacífico on weekends. A subsequent move took her to Bogotá. She left for five weeks but returned on March 12, 2008, at the 22:00 newscast after viewer requests. In late 2006 she co-hosted El mundo hoy on WGEN-TV. She co-hosted Séptimo día from June 10, 2007, until April 2011, and worked as a legal adviser for Caracol TV. In March 2011 she announced she would replace María Cristina Uribe on Noticias Uno, debuting there on June 4, 2011.

Personal life

Corzo divorced her first husband and remarried in December 2006, divorcing again in June 2008. She lives in Bogotá with her son Pablo. From mid 2015 to late 2016, her partner was photographer Mauricio Vélez. In 2007 she joined a breast cancer awareness campaign, citing three relatives with the disease. That same year she developed myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). She left Noticias Caracol early 2008 at her son's request but remained as a legal adviser and continued presenting several segments. At the end of 2010 she took a two-month leave to avoid an ME/CFS relapse and was treated for kidney stones. In November 2012 she participated in a bikeway parade sponsored by a UN campaign against violence against women.
