Weeks before the Rock the Cosmos Tour began, the band were asked to assist Ukraine's Olena Pinchuk AntiAids Foundation in reaching the country's youth with the message: 'Don’t Let AIDS Ruin Your Life'. The concert took place at Kharkiv's historic Freedom Square, a venue so large that during World War II it was used for landing planes. For the band and crew, this meant that everyone had to run very fast, very suddenly, but most great and worthwhile things in life are a little dangerous. Over 350,000 Ukrainians attended the performance, and more than 10,000,000 homes watched the live television broadcast by conservative estimates. In total, over 20,000,000 took part in what the band called an unforgettable experience and a meeting in music to fight a common enemy. A concert movie of the 12 September show was produced by NCM Fathom and Disney's Hollywood Records, screened in U.S. movie theatres for one night only on Thursday, 6 November 2008. On March 19, 2022, the film premiered on the Queen Official YouTube channel to raise relief funds for Ukrainian refugees following Russia's invasion of the country, raising over 5 million dollars.
