The 1961 exhibition *Bewogen Beweging* at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam included over 200 works from 18 countries and later traveled to Stockholm and Copenhagen. It featured kinetic art, performance, happenings, film, and static works concerned with movement. In Paris, the Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visuel (GRAV) formed in 1961 with members Horacio Garcia Rossi, Julio Le Parc, François Morellet, Francisco Sobrino, Joël Stein, and Yvaral.
