Demiurge

The Seventh Floor Guardian whose brilliant mind interprets Ainz's every word as a grand design for world domination.

Demiurge is the Guardian of Nazarick's Seventh Floor, taking on the form of a demon dressed in a business suit and glasses. As one of the most intelligent and evil NPCs in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, he acts as Ainz Ooal Gown's chief strategist, willing to commit atrocities and manipulate people to further his goals. His relationship with Sebas Tian is strained due to their opposing natures, which were inherited from their creators who were often at odds.

Quick Facts

Race: Demon

Lore & Background

Demiurge operates under the firm belief that Ainz Ooal Gown has determined his schemes, revealing only parts of his true plans to appease the curiosity of other Guardians. In the New World, he assumes the alternate identity of Jaldabaoth, a powerful Demon Emperor who leads armies of demons against humanity to further his goals without raising suspicion regarding Nazarick's involvement. This dual role allows him to execute aggressive strategies while maintaining the secrecy of the Tomb. Unlike other NPCs who might act on impulse, Demiurge constantly analyzes situations through the lens of Ainz's supposed perfection, often misinterpreting casual comments as deep strategic directives that lead to world-altering events.

Reader's Guide

To understand Demiurge is to understand the engine of Nazarick's expansion in the New World. As the Floor Guardian of the Seventh Floor and in charge of its defenses, he specializes in high-level intellect and manipulation. Players or readers should note his specific appearance: a demon wearing a business suit and glasses. His primary function involves interpreting Ainz's actions; when Ainz speaks casually, Demiurge often constructs elaborate, terrifying strategies from those words. He is the face of the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth, a persona created to operate openly in the New World. While he coordinates with other Guardians, his unique bond with Sebas is marked by tension due to their creators' history.
