Centre Tola Vologe
Historic training hub of Olympique Lyonnais from 1961 to 2016.
The Centre Tola Vologe, named for Anatole "Tola" Vologe—a Lyon athlete killed by the Gestapo in World War II—was the training base and club headquarters of Olympique Lyonnais. Situated in Lyon near the Stade de Gerland, it housed the club from 1961 until 2016, when Olympique Lyonnais relocated to the Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu and its adjacent training facilities. The youth academy also moved to a new complex in Meyzieu.
The center was renowned for elite training, producing several prominent players who passed through its youth system, including Karim Benzema, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sidney Govou, Ludovic Giuly, and Loïc Rémy. Young talents from the Rhône-Alpes region began daily, intensive sessions at age 14, with the program assessing both their sporting potential and psychological development. Alongside training, players attended Saint-Louis-Saint-Bruno College locally, then Frédéric Faÿs Lycée in nearby Villeurbanne, where they could earn their Baccalauréat.
