Djibril Cissé
French striker who overcame two leg breaks to win the Champions League and FA Cup with Liverpool.
Djibril Cissé (born 12 August 1981) is a French former professional footballer who played as a forward. He started his career at Arles-Avignon in 1989, before playing for the youth teams at Nîmes and Auxerre. He spent two years in the youth system at Auxerre, graduating to the first team in 1998. After six seasons at Auxerre, scoring 90 goals in 166 appearances, he moved to Liverpool in 2004. He later played for Marseille, Sunderland, Panathinaikos, Lazio, Al-Gharafa, Kuban Krasnodar, Queens Park Rangers, Bastia, Yverdon Sport, and Saint-Pierroise. He played for France at the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and was part of the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup winning squad.
