Trent G. Yawney is a Canadian professional hockey coach and former defenceman. He is an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. Yawney previously served as head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Yawney was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 1999–2000 NHL season. He then served as head coach of the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL from 2000 to 2005. On July 7, 2005, he was named head coach of the Blackhawks, but was let go on November 27, 2006 and replaced by Denis Savard. On January 10, 2012, he became associate head coach of the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, leading them to a 22-14-2-4 record in the final 42 games and a playoff berth for the first time since 2008. The Anaheim Ducks announced on April 23, 2018 that they were not renewing his assistant coach contract.
