E. F. Band
Swedish band sometimes mistaken for NWOBHM, active 1978–1986.
E.F. Band was a Swedish group that was occasionally mistaken for part of the New wave of British heavy metal movement despite being from Sweden. Formed in 1978 by bassist/vocalist Pär Ericsson and guitarist Bengt Fischer, both former members of the progressive rock band Epizootic, the band initially included drummer Tommy Lager. The name derived from the first letters of Ericsson and Fischer's last names. After early singles, British drummer Dave Dufort joined, recording several tracks before departing prior to the first album. The band later expanded to a four-piece with Dutch vocalist John Ridge, then underwent further lineup changes including future King Diamond guitarist Andy LaRocque. E.F. Band released three studio albums and disbanded in 1986.
