Subject matter

María Marta García Belsunce, an upper-class Argentine sociologist born on April 24, 1952, was the daughter of jurist Adolfo García Belsunce and Luz María Blanca Luisa Galup. She worked with NGOs including Red Social and served as vice-president for Missing Children Argentina. On October 27, 2002, she was found dead in her home at the Carmel Country Club, a gated community in Pilar, Buenos Aires. Initially believed to be an accidental bathtub fall, forensic reports later revealed she had been killed by five shots to the head. Investigation lines included a possible link to the Juárez Cartel, a failed robbery, and a fight with her husband. Her widower, Carlos Carrascosa, served five years in prison for homicide. The victim's brother and half-brother were prosecuted for cover-up but acquitted. Two trials involved thirteen people, and a new trial is scheduled for neighbor Nicolás Pachelo.

Persons featured

The series presents interviews with journalists Rolando Barbano and Pablo Duggan, who covered the case, along with family members and friends offering their perspectives. Prosecutor Diego Molina Pico also appears, as do writers Guillermo Martínez and Claudia Piñeiro, who discuss the case's social impact. Other featured individuals include the victim's widower Carlos Carrascosa, brother Horacio García Belsunce, half-siblings Irene Hurtig and John Hurtig, brother-in-law Guillermo Bártoli, lawyers Diego Ferrari and Gabriel Becker, neighbor Nicolás Pachelo, paramedics Juan Ramón Gauvry Gordon and Santiago Biasi, neighbor Sergio Binello, and masseur Beatriz Michelini.
