Quattro Bajeena

The masked ace who returned to lead the fight against the corrupt Titans.

Quattro Bajeena is a central figure in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, serving as a high-ranking pilot for the rebel Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG). Introduced early in the series, he leads an attack on the Green Noa colony to capture three Gundam Mk-II mobile suits undergoing field tests. During this operation, civilian teenager Kamille Bidan strikes a Titans officer named Jerid Messa and subsequently steals the enemy's mobile suit to repel the assault, choosing to follow Quattro back to the AEUG mothership, Argama. While Quattro initially operates as a mysterious commander, he is later revealed to be the legendary Char Aznable returning under a new identity.

Lore & Background

Set in Universal Century 0087, eight years after the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Quattro Bajeena operates within the AEUG as they clash with the Earth Federation's corrupt task force, the Titans. He plays a pivotal role when Kamille Bidan joins their cause after his mother is mistakenly killed by Jerid Messa during a hostage plot ordered by Titans commander Bask Om. As the conflict escalates into an Earth Sphere civil war, Quattro leads the AEUG in a full-scale attack on the Earth Federation assembly at Dakar. It is here that he reveals his true identity as Char Aznable, presenting evidence of the Titans' tyranny, including their use of G3 nerve gas on a defenseless colony.
