Maurice Taylor

Maurice De Shawn Taylor (born October 30, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player who played power forward and center. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines and was selected 14th overall in the 1997 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He played in the NBA from 1997 to 2007 for the Clippers, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings, and later played internationally in Italy and China from 2009 to 2011.

Lore & Background
Taylor attended the University of Michigan and won Big Ten Freshman of the Year for the 1995–1996 season. He was involved in a traffic accident while out with fellow Michigan player Robert Traylor that left Taylor with a broken arm. Years after his college career, he was accused of taking money from booster Ed Martin, leading Michigan to vacate wins from 1995–1999 and remove banners, though not every game was individually forfeited; his records were removed from official record books but not completely erased.
