Thoha Tribe

Lore & Background

The tribe's existence was cut short when the Space Pirates discovered SR388 and its valuable bio-weapons. The pirates, led by Ridley, launched a brutal assault to capture the Metroids for weaponization, slaughtering the Thoha in the process. The tragedy of the Thoha is immortalized in the skeletal remains found throughout the ruins of their civilization on SR388, which serve as a grim reminder of the cost of greed. Their legacy lives on only through the few Metroids that escaped and the genetic data recovered by Samus Aran, who eventually helped eradicate the Space Pirate threat on the planet.

Reader's Guide

The Thoha Tribe operated as a decentralized, spiritual collective rather than a militaristic state. Their leadership was likely based on those who possessed the deepest understanding of Metroid biology and behavior, serving as intermediaries between their people and the creatures they protected. Their primary goal was the preservation of life on SR388 by maintaining the delicate balance with the Metroids. They sought to prevent the creatures from becoming feral or aggressive while ensuring the tribe's safety from other native threats.

This required constant vigilance and a deep, almost telepathic bond between human and alien. Historically, their only major conflict was against the Space Pirates. The pirates viewed the Thoha as obstacles to be removed in order to harvest Metroids for biological warfare. This conflict resulted in the total annihilation of the tribe, leaving no survivors to carry on their traditions or knowledge.
